I’ve been the club instructor of the University College London Jitsu Club since 1997. Jiu Jitsu, meaning the gentle or yielding art, is neither gentle nor yielding. I’ve coached the club to a record thirteen national championships. I’m doing some research into Bartitsu, the martial art of the discerning Victorian gentleman.
I’m playing around with possible books on persuasion, the meaning of life, and a bit of metaphilosophy, and I’ve had a very bad idea for a book about books.
I’m training for another attempt on a long cycle ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats at the end of the summer.
